In order to get indexed in Yahoo quickly, you can submit your site directly to Yahoo. There are several types of submission supported by Yahoo. The most commonly used are free site submission to start getting indexed as soon as possible. On Thursday, 22 January 2009, this site is not indexed yet although it's been operational since 14 January 2009.
I submitted my site a few minutes after, by opening http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit. Entering the full address of the website. And submit URL.
Main Submission
It will the ask you to login, create a login ID if you do not have yahoo account. Otherwise, enter your login and password and continue.
Yahoo will then add your site and lead you to the thank you page. This site will then be added to the mysite list of your account. For the verification of verification, scroll down to Verification Process section.
Another way of submitting your site is through RSS or Sitemap submission. In order to submit your sitemap or RSS feeds to yahoo, open the same page http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit and entering the full address of your sitemap/feed here.
Sitemap submission
Yahoo will add your sitemap with the name of your website as the header. This works better than normal submission since Yahoo will be able to read the sitemap.xml file that you have.
Verification process of the submitted site
The next thing that you will need to do is verifying your site. This is easily done by going to your personal siteexplorer page (https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites), login and you'll be presented with the main page with verified, new, pending or failed status.
Click on the new symbol (yellow symbol). You will then be presented with two verification options, whether to add a META tag or upload a file to the main directory of your site.
If you hired a hosting service, it is easier to upload the file to the website's main directory. Download the file by clicking the link, and upload the file using your choice of FTP client or web based file transfer.
For META tag addition, copy the META tag which is something like this: <META name="y_key" content="abcdefghij1234">. Insert this whole META tag in your site's main page right under the <HEAD> tag. This can be done by using site editor which is normally provided by the webhost; or you can download the main page of your site, modify it and re-upload it. I chose to download it and edit it using notepad to better illustrate the step.
Click ready to authenticate and you will be brought to pending authentication page. Wait for several hours and your site will be authenticated.
